ADVISORY BOARD MEMBERSHIP

 GROWING ADVISORY LEADERSHIP

WHAT IS AN ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER?

As a Foundation Advisory Board member, you will provide your perspectives, advice and insight. Although you will not have any governing power or fiduciary responsibility, you will be well positioned to offer pointed opinions and advice to Trustees. You will be seen and appreciated as a “thought leader”, working to further enhance the Foundation’s Vision, Mission, and Strategy. As an advisory board member, you will focus on specific areas and/or committees where the Foundation has needs, especially in areas that are critical in shaping our donor outreach strategy.

WHAT WOULD MY DUTIES BE?

Advisory board members, in addition to making recommendations and providing advice and support, make sure that Foundation philanthropic endeavors and strategic initiatives are current and relevant to business, industry, labor and professional development practices. Advisory board members help to assess the macro and microeconomic markets and the demand for certain University and Foundation programming and/or partnerships. They are also involved with other areas of programming, such as marketing, promotion, fundraising and assisting with job placement for University graduates. Advisory board members who are active and involved in their duties are valuable assets as program ambassadors and advocates and represent the next generation of prospective Board of Trustee members.
