Emmitt Wooten – Board Member


Emmitt H. Wooten Jr., P.E., M.B.A. is North American Early Career Director with Dow Inc., a leading US-based material science company.  He received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Prairie View A&M University in 1994 as a Benjamin Banneker Honors College Scholar, his MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville in 1996 as a GEM Fellow, and an Executive MBA from Northwood University in 2010. 


Mr. Wooten has spent the vast majority of his career in core manufacturing in addition to functional facing roles where he demonstrated competencies in Supply Chain, M&A, Human Resources, Finance, Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement, and Sourcing.  He has received numerous certifications, such as his Professional Engineer License in the State of Arkansas and Texas, Six Sigma/LEAN certification,  and ADKAR certification, to name a few. 


In addition to his core role, Wooten serves as a Sponsor of Dow's Texas Operations Global African Affinity Network (GAAN), a OPex Leadership & Talent Development Coach, a Financial Acumen Trainer, PVAMU College of Engineering Mechanical Engineering Industry Advisory Committee Chair, a C.A.N.E. Foundation Board member, a Life Member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and a parishioner of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church.


He is married to his wife Maya and is a father to Alyssia, Catherine, Alex, and Camille.
